WATER - Classification - Spring Water

Like natural mineral water, spring water is a non-processed water from a subterranean source.

Spring water must satisfy practically the same legal requirements as mineral water. However, unlike mineral water, spring water need not be bottled directly at source. For instance, spring waters may be transported to a bottling plant. Another difference is that spring waters are not tested for health-promoting properties.

Spring water can be marketed only when its source has been recognized by the government.
